My mission

My mission is to help employees regulate their nervous systems, think with greater clarity, and build practical skills that reduce stress, prevent burnout, and foster healthier, more resilient workplaces where both people and performance can thrive.

Meet Sheba Spencer

Sheba Spencer, wellness entrepreneur and founder of Groundwork

I'm Sheba Spencer, a wellness entrepreneur with over 16 years of experience helping people navigate stress, anxiety, pressure, and life's biggest decisions.

Today, I partner with startups and growing companies to help employees reduce burnout, manage stress, and build practical tools for staying grounded in high-pressure environments. My workshops are engaging, interactive, and designed to create lasting change, not just temporary motivation.

Over the past 16+ years, I have supported more than 500 individuals through one-on-one sessions and group programs, designed and led workshops and classes for adult learners for over a decade, and created a six-month weekly workplace wellness program serving approximately 240 participants. I also teach EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques/Tapping), a practical method that helps reduce stress and improve emotional regulation, and have been selected to facilitate workshops at a national conference held at Morehouse College.

What I am, and what I'm not

I'm not a therapist. I don't diagnose anybody and I don't treat mental illness. I'm not a replacement for the benefits you already have.

What I do is practical: help people manage stress, get clear on what's bothering them, and get some tools they can actually use on a Tuesday.

If somebody comes to me and they need a real clinician, I don't try to handle it. I have therapists I refer to, and I make that call right away.

Let's talk for 30 minutes

No sales pitch. I'll ask how many people you've hired recently, what happens when somebody on your team is struggling, and whether anyone actually uses the benefits you're paying for. If I'm not the right fit, I'll tell you.
